My name is Brandon Dickerson, and am a writer of internet things. I have a long established love of video games and I really enjoy writing about them, so this seemed to be the natural progression of things.
Along with this blog, I am also a regular contributor to Substance TV, a site focused around the gamer culture. Beyond that, I’m just trying to get my writing out for people to read.
I live in Wichita, KS, though I’m hoping that I can move out in the next couple years pending certain circumstances. A lot of my time is spent in class or at work. When I’m not doing those things, I’m likely trying to write something. It’s what I really want to do, and it’s what I enjoy doing, so I keep doing it. I’ve been a gamer nearly all my life, from my very early childhood where I spent countless hours playing games on my grandfather’s Commodore 64, up until the current day where I have my own income, and therefore have every current console at my fingertips.
I’m forever in love with the Super Nintendo, though my favorite Mario game is Super Mario Bros 3. It’s a complicated life to live, but I do what I can with what I have.
I tell people that when I write, I want to try and evoke the same feelings through my words that Zac Gorman does with his art. I don’t think I’m anywhere near as talented with my writing as he is with his art, but it brings out those certain feelings of joy that I don’t feel very often anymore. I’m constantly fighting to take those feelings back, and with that I keep writing, in hopes that maybe someday I can do exactly that.
